“Villa” Wedding Feature with Events by Gianna

It’s always incredibly exciting when you see your work out in the wild, especially when it’s featured in photos as stunning as these are!

Surrounded by deep, rich florals on a beautifully intricate vintage tray and embraced by sweeping tulle in a wild and rustic field setting, the dramatic and romantic essence of the “Villa” wedding invitation suite I designed for Minted was perfectly captured in this styled wedding shoot.

The mastermind behind these incredible photos is Gianna, whose passion and undeniable talent for event planning and design brought her to create her boutique events planning business West Event Co. Based in Sonoma County, California, her mission is to take her clients’ vision and transform it into a gorgeous reality.

After seeing these photos and connecting on Instagram, I reached out to Gianna to learn more about her business and about her endeavors as a creative entrepreneur.

What made you decide to start an event planning business?
Raised in Sonoma County, I grew up with a unique culture around celebrations: celebrating a marriage, a harvest, and even just a great meal. This idea to take the everyday, the mundane and to raise a glass inspired me to pursue just that. Curating a space to come together, to cheers, to celebrate.

Where do you get your inspiration?
Anything from the Rococo era, the 1950s, 1970s, and unique textures.

What do you find most gratifying as a creative entrepreneur?
I find that being a creative entrepreneur is beneficial in so many ways but the one reason that stands out most is the ability to have others trust me with their vision. Being a creative entrepreneur allows me to not only express myself but also to make genuine emotional connections that you might not get working in most 9 to 5 jobs. The trust of the client and the bond I get to form is my favorite part of what I do.

What do you find most challenging as a creative entrepreneur?
I find that time management is something I personally struggle with in my business. I can easily find myself spending too much time perfecting one task, even when I have a million to do!

What would be your dream wedding venue?
The Palace of Versailles – no question about it!

Dream client – if you could plan anyone’s wedding (present or future), who would it be and how would you envision it?
My dream client would be Lana Del Rey! She is such a transformative person and is so artistic in her music and projects. Her wedding would be an old Hollywood inspired event with hints of vintage glamor and an abundance of amazing music and champagne flowing. 

Favorite drink or cocktail?
Champagne!
